23 years of hemp, heart, and a little stubborn determination.
On Earth Day in 2003, I founded Vital Hemp with a simple idea: we could make better clothing from a remarkable plant. Hemp grows quickly, produces a lot of biomass, and is especially effective at pulling carbon from the atmosphere as it grows, while offering an alternative to more resource-intensive and plastic-based fibers.
Everything is better in hemp.
Twenty-three years later, I still believe that just as strongly. Maybe more.
Over the years, we’ve created dozens of original products, opened a store on Main Street in Santa Monica, worked with other brands, participated in festivals and expos, and built a community of people who believe that what we wear matters.
Some of you have been wearing your Vital Hemp favorites for decades.
For that, I can’t thank you enough.

If you’ve visited our website lately, you’ve probably noticed that many styles, colors, and sizes have been sold out for quite a while.
The truth is, we haven’t produced a new collection in several years. We’ve been selling through existing inventory, and getting the core line back into production has taken longer than I hoped.
But the passion behind the brand hasn’t gone anywhere.
I still hear from people looking for Anywhere Pants, T-shirts, hoodies, dresses, workout shorts, and other longtime favorites. That’s one of the reasons I want to bring the core collection back.
I believe there’s an opportunity to rebuild Vital Hemp around a tighter selection of proven products, stronger direct-to-consumer sales, smarter marketing, and a much leaner operating model.
To do that, I’m looking for the right investor, strategic business partner, or potential buyer who sees the opportunity in a 23-year-old brand with original designs, longstanding manufacturing relationships, and loyal customers.
I still believe the world needs better alternatives to disposable, plastic-based clothing, and I’d like to find someone with the financial resources and business expertise to help take Vital Hemp forward.
