march 2013 newsletter
Four new vital hemp styles – hi-lo, Henley, hoodie and long dress – went into production without a glitch (thank you, LA collaborators!). Around the same time, I hung four beautiful longboards from the ceiling of the shop. Coincidence? The flow works in miraculous ways….
We hosted LA Green Drinks in the shop, and drank hemp ale!
Our daughter, Eden, turned two, with three grandparents here to celebrate, along with two grateful parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and a small swarm of friends to share the backyard playset.
The new vital hemp shop cruised past our one-year anniversary, with hardly a moment to celebrate. Lookout for the TEN YEAR anniversary of our company this coming Earth Day, with the best party we’ve ever thrown—live music, hemp treats a-plenty and of course, hemp ale!
This weekend, we’ll be returning to the Natural Products Expo (EXPO WEST) in Anaheim, where you’ll find the vital hemp booth in Hall D, at the top of the escalator. If you’re attending the show, come by for a peek at the new styles, our hemp apron, and some of our newest hempkins.
Later in the month, find us at a couple of events hosted by OC Fashion Week in Laguna Beach.
That’s as much as we can pack into March, other than Passover and a trip to the periodontist!
Now for the hemp fact of the month:
According to the Department of Energy, hemp as a biomass fuel producer requires the least specialized growing and processing procedures of all hemp products. The hydrocarbons in hemp can be processed into a wide range of biomass energy sources, from fuel pellets to liquid fuels and gas. Development of bio-fuels could significantly reduce our consumption of fossil fuels and nuclear power.
